My name is Philip Zimmerman. I am a professional certified coach, professional engineer, and hold a doctorate in organizational leadership. In my book, Unleash the Millennials and Save the World, I introduce that the COVID-19 global pandemic has accelerated the full effects of a Millennium Change Cycle (MCC) that will radically transform all aspects of cultural and business interactions globally. No matter the path back to a theoretical normal life and business in the United States, the normal we used to know is gone forever. While you may survive the MCC, will your organization?
The aforementioned Millennium Chance Cycle (MCC) in all of its fullness would have happened within the next fifteen years had not a virus outbreak and escape from China accelerated its eventuality. Be encouraged, the Millennial generation has been specifically educated and prepared to quickly guide us through rapid cultural and business transformation and safely over the precipice of the MCC.
Following a successful twenty year professional engineering consulting career primarily in executive leadership I became immersed with Millennials in the classroom as an educator. With a passion for training, empowering, and sending out leaders I began an organizational leadership doctoral program in 2010 to gain needed knowledge and insight to envision, develop and launch a Millennial student Institute of Leadership.
It was while doing doctoral level background research on Millennials I discovered something was not right generationally in the workplace. The Millennial generation I knew as bright, inquisitive, creative, innovative, and passionate about doing great things in the future were being disparaged for a lack of engagement, productivity, and loyalty in the workplace in technical journals, on-line articles, books, and research based academic studies. It took a deeper dive into the metrics and measures of the research to fully comprehend the issue.
My doctoral dissertation project was the development of a workplace implemented coaching program for enhancing Millennial engagement, productivity, and loyalty (EPL) in the workplace. Continued research discoveries of Millennials in the workplace were so alarming it was self-evident the greatest crisis was not in the classroom but in the boardrooms and C-suites of corporations about to experience extreme transformational change. Since 2014, I have been helping executives and their executive teams prepare their Millennial talent to lead the effort in addressing dramatic changes rapidly approaching the workplace.
The professional coaching and consulting services I offer are designed for individuals and organizations to encourage, empower, and unleash Millennial talent and younger Xers in the workplace to join a community of like-minded and passionate superheroes engaged in changing social and business cultures and literally save the world from cataclysm. Specifically, immediate areas in need of their influence include establishing common truth and knowability in the workplace and directing business model Connected Age transformation paths forward as AI enters the workplace.
All Millennials are needed and must be inspired, empowered, and set loose to intentionally focus on keeping the lid on the proverbial pot when the workplace stew comes to a rapid boil around 2025. I cannot be more confident that if we Unleash the Millennials now in the workplace, they will Save the World for their children and grandchildren to enjoy.
It is time to communicate, cooperate, collaborate, and co-create (C4) innovative and healthy workplace relationships among all generations as well as transformation synthesis of 21st Century Connected Age organizations moving forward.
